INGREDIENTS
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 carrot, peeled and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 red capsicum, cut into small pieces
- 300 grams of mince
- 1 tablespoon tomato purée
- 150mls passata
- 150 grams spaghetti of your choice (use gluten-free if needed)
Optional (for serving):
- Freshly chopped basil
- Parmesan cheese (omit for a dairy-free option)
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Start by adding the pasta to the Beaba Babycook® Pasta/Rice cooker insert. Fill the water reservoir to water level 3 (Babycook Solo Express 170ml on Standard Cooking Mode) and add 1/2 cup/120ml water to the insert with the pasta. Steam cook the pasta. Once steamed, transfer the spaghetti to a bowl and set it aside.
-
Next, add the onion, thyme, basil, garlic, carrot, red pepper, mince, tomato purée, and passata to the steaming basket of the Beaba Babycook®.
-
Fill the steamer reservoir with water up to level 3 (Babycook Solo Express 160ml on Standard Cooking Mode) and steam the ingredients.
-
Once the mince and veggies are steamed, carefully open the lid and remove the steaming basket.
-
Transfer the contents of the steaming basket into the Babycook® blending bowl. Keep the water at the bottom of the steaming basket as it holds a lot of flavor!
-
Blend the mixture to your desired texture for your baby.
-
Serve the purée over the cooked spaghetti. Top with freshly chopped basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, if desired.
-
Serve and enjoy!
-
The Bolognese sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
